Abu Simbel Day Tour from Aswan by Private Car

Your representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan in a private, air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Abu Simbel. Once you arrive, you will explore the incredible Abu Simbel complex, which includes the majestic Great Sun Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari. Both temples were originally discovered in 1813, nearly buried in sand. In 1960, they were carefully relocated by the Egyptian government and UNESCO to protect them from the rising waters of the Nile.

Ramses II built the Great Sun Temple primarily to honor himself, with a famous mural inside depicting his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. To the north of Ramses’ temple, you’ll find the Temple of Nefertari, dedicated to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari, one of his 200 wives and concubines.

After your visit, you’ll be escorted back to your hotel in Aswan by your private air-conditioned vehicle. A delicious lunch at a local restaurant is also included in the tour.
