Your adventure starts with a pickup from your hotel in Dahab at 5:00 PM. You’ll enjoy a 30-minute ride in a 4WD vehicle through the desert, taking you to a traditional Bedouin camp in the mountains.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by the Bedouin hosted and seated on cozy carpets around a warm fire and served Bedouin tea. This sweet tea is made with black tea leaves and desert herbs like marmaraya and habak, which taste like thyme and mint. The Bedouins will carefully froth the tea and serve it in small glasses, giving you a taste of local tradition.
For an extra adventure, you can choose to go on an optional camel ride around the desert, offering a unique way to see the beautiful surroundings.
As the sun sets over the desert, you’ll enjoy a delicious Bedouin dinner. The main dish is zarb – slow-cooked meat (goat, lamb, or chicken) and vegetables cooked in an underground oven. You’ll also have rice, fresh salads, along with soft drinks and water.
As you eat, you’ll learn about Bedouin culture and history, and listen to local music and stories. After dinner, you can marvel at the millions of stars in the clear desert sky – it’s truly magical at night.
By 8:30 PM, it’s time to hop back into the 4WD vehicle for a scenic ride back to Dahab, arriving at your hotel by 9:00 PM to end your unforgettable desert adventure.
